Introduction to DMIC Projects

The Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) is an ambitious infrastructure development project that connects two of India’s largest cities, Delhi and Mumbai. It is designed to enhance industrialization, create global trade hubs, and promote urban and infrastructure growth across six states. The project spans 1504 km, and aims to build world-class industrial zones, manufacturing hubs, and integrated logistics facilities, which will stimulate economic growth and create employment.

DMIC focuses on transforming India’s manufacturing and logistics sectors. The objectives include:

Several zones are being developed under DMIC:

  • Dholera SIR (Special Investment Region): Gujarat’s flagship project with 22.5 sq. km of developed area, aimed at becoming a global manufacturing hub.
  • Shendra-Bidkin Industrial Area: Located near Aurangabad, Maharashtra, providing an integrated industrial space with robust infrastructure.
  • Greater Noida (IITGN): Focuses on sustainable development and includes logistics and business parks.

Other industrial hubs such as Dighi Port, Jodhpur Pali Marwar, and Vikram Udyogpuri are also part of the initiative.
